Dr G. Mackenzie is the founding  Director of Gauteng Gynaecology Centre (GGA) and has been writing protocols for various insititutions for over 10 years. He holds a B.Sc from University of Capetown, College of Medicine, Speciality in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and is a member of The Health Proffessionals Council of South Africa, a regulatory body for  General Practitioners in South Africa. he has a Family Planning Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health, Member of the Dermatological Society of South Africa and is also a member of the APFSA (Abortion Provider’s Federation of South Africa), the FIAPAC (International Federation of Professional Abortion & Contraception Associates) and the GAF (Gauteng Abortion Federation)

The key goal of pregnancy counselling is to encourage you to make your own personal decision and feel comfortable with the decision you have made. Counselling is also designed to limit regret and long-term psychological consequences by exploring alternatives and resolving ambivalence.If you decide to terminate a pregnancy, the operative procedure will be explained, including possible complications and after care. If you decide to continue with the pregnancy you should see your local doctor or local hospital for antenatal care, and if needed see a social worker at your local hospital.
